Welcome to my webpage
I am Venoll, a freelance software developer with more than 20 years of experience. This site is my own corner of the web, where I publish the tools I build and write about the work behind them.
I write tools mainly for two reasons: Some are meant to make everyday work easier in nonprofit and care-taking organizations, where budgets are tight and software should simply be helpful instead of annoying. Others exist to keep your data safe, intact, and private: Telling you whether a file has quietly become corrupted, proving that it has not been changed, and, further along, encrypting what should stay yours alone.
Everything here is free and open source, carries no ads, and does not track you. You do not need an account, and nothing asks for more than it needs.
What you will find here:
- My Projects: Every tool has its own page with downloads, changelog and documentation, each built to do one job well. A good place to start is ParityCheck and HashCheck Enhanced. More are on the way, including C___S___, E___T______, and O___C____.
- My Blog: Longer write-ups on what I am working on and why. Sometimes even about what bothers me. Shorter notes and small updates live in the sidebar next to it.
One small thing you may notice: The colours of this site follow the real time of day, from morning gold through midday blue to night. If you want to play with it, open the dial in the corner and travel through the hours yourself.
Take a look around. If a tool here saves you time or trouble, that is exactly what it is for. And if you would like to support the work, there is a Ko-fi link; it is completely voluntary.
